This weekend I spent a lot of time following the destructive path of Hurricane Irene. Throughout the weekend I followed the Weather Channel and from time to time I switched to CNN and Fox news to see what they were reporting. My thoughts of these two media giants rang true. They promoted fear. Each story talking about the dead or injured and how things were going to continue to get worse. On the other hand, the Weather Channel reported where the storm was and provided predictions of what was to come. No spin. No promotion of fear. Just straight up reporting. Sure they talked about the idiots that came up and put themselves in danger, but for the most part it was just pure journalism. I highly recommend turning off CNN and Fox. They really only exist to promote the Democratic (CNN) and Republican (Fox) agenda.
So why I am so mad you ask? The reason is simple. I am mad because each channel showed rescuses being performed in areas that had been told to evacuate. Just like Katrina, people were warned and given ample time to make a choice. These people made the choice to stay. Why are emergency crews risking their lives to help those who refused to leave? It just doesn't make sense. If you do not heed warnings, your on your own. It is that simple. You can not help people who refuse help.

Casey Anthony gets 4 years
This morning, Casey Anthony was given four years for lying to police. She was sent back to jail, but her lawyers are discussing time served with the judge. The actual time she will spend in jail should be minimal as she has already served almost 3 years of the 4 year sentence.
In the meantime, HLN continues to cover the crowd reaction outside the courtroom. People are upset. They are upset that she may be getting out of jail soon. They are upset that she got away with murder. Watching the crowd and protestors is truley sad. None of these people understand the law. The case has been tried in the media for the past 3 years. All they know is that she guilty and she has lied. She is also a whore and not a very good mother. She is a cold killer and shows no remorse for what she has done. That being said, she is also innocent and needs to be released from prison immediately. She has been found not guilty by 12 people who sat through the trial and heard the facts. The media is using words like "shocked" to describe the outcome. They try to tell the public that there was plenty of evidence and she should be excuted for her crimes. To the media and protestors who do not believe there was reasonable doubt in this case, I say this. How did Caylee Anthony die? If you can not prove that how can you prove that she killed her child?
Should you be executed for lying? If lying was an crime that warranted the death penalty, Congress would seek to exist. In a court of law, we have to rely on facts, not emotions. Nancy Grace from HLN has put a lot of emotion into this story for years. I actually followed her from time to time. I believe Casey is guilty. However, since I don't know how Caylee died it is impossible to convict.
